Found in a barn outside Waco under three tarps and forty years of dust. The second owner parked it in 1984 meaning to fix the clutch, and life happened. The 351 is numbers-matching, the restoration was done on a rotisserie, and it still smells faintly of hay if you leave it in the sun.

Sold new to a Santa Fe schoolteacher who spent every summer break in it — Big Bend, the Gila, one long haul to Banff in '92. Her son kept it running out of loyalty, then called us when his garage got too small. Rebuilt engine at 110k. The fridge still works. So does the romance.

Lived nine floors underground in a Houston tower garage, under a fitted cover, next to a fire extinguisher its owner bought just for it. Every service stamp, paint film from new, and an over-rev report so clean it reads like a lullaby. The rare file where the flaw line took us a week to write.

An airport car, honestly — its owner flew Mondays and drove it hard on Saturdays, and the service book proves he loved it both ways. Full history, new run-flats, and the kind of straight-six hum that makes you take the long ramp. The wear is where a driver sits. We left it alone.

The first owner ordered it and barely drove it; the second actually did, which is why the seat leather has a story and the brakes are new — our money. The one-man-one-engine plaque under the hood is signed by whoever built the V8, and the full service folder weighs more than the jack.

The espresso-run car of a retired Clarksville architect who bought it because it made her laugh in the showroom. Thirty thousand gentle miles, a glovebox full of café receipts, and a parking style best described as confident. The happiest file in the cabinet, flaws and all.

Filed early as a future classic — we think the desert-racer trucks of this era end up behind velvet ropes. This one worked a ranch near Llano, towed a boat, and never once left the ground; we checked the frame on camera to be sure. Buy it to use it. The file will keep.
